About the Role


In your role as Cloud Systems Engineer, you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.


This role offers a great opportunity to design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure. You’ll ensure the reliability, scalability and security of cloud environments, supporting business applications and data platforms.


You will work closely with the platform, technology architecture, operations and security teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.


Please note: This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.


What You Will Be Doing


As a trusted part of the IT team, you will:


  • Design and manage Azure infrastructure, including AD, VMs, networking, storage and compliance
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform; automate tasks with PowerShell and Python
  • Implement and support Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric for data and analytics workloads
  • Monitor environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights
  • Lead technical handovers, mentor teams and ensure smooth transition to support
  • Collaborate across teams and projects, ensuring cloud solutions align with business needs
  • Contribute to governance, policy updates and the development of new models for deployed technology


About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:


  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and core cloud services
  • Skills in Azure administration and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Skills in automation and scripting using PowerShell and Python
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and governance
  • Experience with Azure monitoring and logging tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
