We have an exciting opportunity for a Cluster Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Health team across West Yorkshire. Within this role you will oversee psychological services across 5 prisons sites within the West Yorkshire region, HMP Leeds- category B remand, HMP Wakefield- category A, HMP Wealstun- category C, HMP New Hall- womens, HMP Askham Grange- women's open prison. This a fantastic opportunity to provide clinical oversight and support the integration of trauma-informed practices within each facility. You will to work closely with the senior leadership and established mental health teams to providing clinical input where needed and clinical supervision for psychologist within the region. This role offers a rare opportunity to work with a diverse range of prison settings where you can work closely with regional and national senior leadership colleagues to review and enhance service quality as well as driving improvements in psychological service delivery across the cluster.


Hours

Monday to Friday 9am-5pm


Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary of up to £75,000 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:

As a Cluster Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data
  • Contribute to proposals and implementation of policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies
  • Advise the Mental Health lead and/or Heads of Healthcare on those aspects of the service where psychological matters need addressing in line with best practice and service objectives
  • Provide training and supervision for members of the service (healthcare and prison) in the delivery of psychologically, trauma informed care and treatment; Be responsible for planning, delivery and clinical supervision of a specialist psychology training placement for trainees on the postgraduate doctoral courses in clinical/counselling and/ or forensic psychology
  • Attend regional and national Psychological Therapies meetings, service development and other relevant meetings
  • Be aware of, adhere to, and where appropriate, contribute to the formulation and review of Practice Plus Group policies and procedures

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Qualified clinical, counselling or forensic psychologist and registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist
  • Postgraduate qualification/training in at least one specific mode of psychological therapy relevant to people with severe and long standing mental health difficulties eg: CBT, Systemic /family therapy, Mindfulness based therapies, CAT, DBT, Mentalisation, Schema Therapy Experience of providing evidence based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems
  • Experience of working with mental health forensic population
  • Working knowledge of clinical governance, including relevant approaches and tools
