This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cognition and Learning team (CALT) to support positive outcomes for pupils. This role involves working with colleagues in mainstream schools to support the development of good practice and appropriate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly Specific Learning Difficulties in both literacy and numeracy. The role also involves planning, delivering and evaluating training, some of this will be within schools and some delivered to groups of practitioners.
You will need to have extensive knowledge and significant experience of working with pupils with cognition and learning difficulties as well as supporting colleagues. You will need to be able to work collaboratively with colleagues in the CALT team and with other teams in education, health and social care.
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher, ideally hold an accredited L7 qualification in SpLD (dyslexia) or be committed to gaining the qualification within the first two years in post. You will need experience of planning and delivering training and providing advice/guidance to those working with children & young people.

You will only be required to work during term time when the establishment is in session. You will not be entitled to annual leave during term time, payment for which is reflected in your salary. Entitlement to paid annual leave increases by 5 days after completing 5 years continuous service with one or more Authority by 1 April which is the commencement of the leave year. If a part month is worked at the beginning or end of your employment the amount payable will be adjusted to reflect the number of days actually worked in that particular month.
