Collections Consultant (Permanent, Full Time)
We’re looking for a confident and proactive Collections Consultant to join our Consumer team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing our customer accounts by helping to maximise cash collection and prevent debt — all while delivering a great customer experience. You’ll take ownership of your own customer portfolio and work closely with others to ensure timely and effective debt management.
Salary – Up to £25,200 per annum dependant on experience
Location – Carr Lane, Hull, with hybrid working opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage your own portfolio of customer accounts to meet targets and service levels
- Monitor payment activity and customer behaviour to stay ahead of any issues
- Contact customers regarding late payments to prevent debt escalation
- Create and maintain accurate customer records
- Review account history to recommend solutions that benefit both the customer and the business
- Identify and recommend write-offs for unrecoverable debt where necessary
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth and consistent collections process
- Carry out credit checks for new customers to support long-term account health
Requirements
- Confidence speaking with customers and a natural problem-solving mindset
- Great attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload
- A collaborative approach – you’ll be working closely with your team and other departments
- Previous experience in collections or finance-based customer service is a plus, but not essential – we’re more interested in your attitude and willingness to learn
