About The Role
The Commercial Asset and Portfolio Analysis team delivers market insights, commercial valuations, and analytical support across RWE’s global portfolio of renewable, conventional, and storage technologies. By guiding investments toward the most commercially promising markets and technologies, we help drive RWE’s progress toward Net Zero and maximize value from current and future assets.
This role focuses on commercial support for UK projects, including valuations, strategic and regulatory analysis, and auction support. Depending on your experience, the focus may be on renewable, conventional, electrolyser and/or storage assets.
We’re looking for someone with strong numerical skills and stakeholder management capabilities. You'll join a dynamic, international team with opportunities for remote work, travel, and cross-department collaboration. We also encourage job shadowing and rotation across regions and departments to broaden your experience within RWE.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as a key contact for stakeholders and project developers, focusing on the commercial valuation and optimization of new asset development projects
- You drive commercial margin evaluations, ensuring that all relevant revenue components for the asset's lifetime are included in investment decisions
- Enhance and standardize valuation methods and tools across technologies and regions
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, particularly CAO UK and Valuation Teams
- Support UK long-term power market modelling and further optimize valuation methodologies in close cooperation with UK Power Analysis and Strategic Market Analysis (EEO) teams
- Monitor relevant market and regulatory developments and assist the Strategy and Regulatory Affairs teams to incorporate current and future market and regulatory scenarios into long-term strategic planning
- Deliver ad-hoc market analyses and commercial support, especially during key market events
Job Requirements And Experience
- University degree with quantitative background, e.g. in economics, business studies, finance, engineering, physics or mathematics
- Profound understanding of the UK & European electricity markets, along with a general knowledge of the commercial value drivers of power generation assets and storages
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an openness to new approaches and challenges
- Excellent communication skills and customer focus, with the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Team player with high self-motivation and a sense of responsibility, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Extensive experience in working with Excel
- Fluency in English
Advantageous, But Not Essential
- Proven track record in project management
- Skills in VBA, R, Python, database handling or Tableau are a further benefit
- Any other European language
