Due to our continued growth and recent award of the CP7 contract in the North West & Central region, AmcoGiffen is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Commercial Assistant to join our asset maintenance framework team. You will be supporting a group of expert commercial professionals and contributing to the profitable performance of our diverse portfolio of works throughout the region. Business Unit Overview

At AmcoGiffen, we thrive in a busy and fast-paced project environment with a broad portfolio of civil projects currently underway. Our projects typically encompass:

  • Line-side rail civil contracts
  • Bridge and structures renewals
  • Large structural installations, including new bridges
  • Access for All (AFA) schemes
  • General civil works and buildings and civils minor works/asset maintenance

These projects may include bridge upgrades and refurbishments, station works (platforms, etc.) footbridge constructions, and various line-side civil engineering works.

The Role

As a Commercial Assistant, you will play an integral role within our expert commercial team in the North West & Central region. Your main focus will be supporting Asset Management maintenance and renewal works, as well as civil and building projects throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sub-contractor payments, procurement, and liabilities for CVR.
  • Prepare weekly job tracker reports.
  • Create and process order requests.
  • Compile final account packs for Network Rail and other clients.
  • Obtain signed completion certificates and follow up for necessary information from internal teams.
  • Distribute completed SI's for estimating and undertake various CVR data manipulation exercises.
  • Handle technical queries from clients and respond accordingly.
  • Organise and facilitate final account information to be signed off and submitted for payment to clients.
  • Issue site inspections to relevant QS for estimation.
  • Submit estimates onto the system for client approval.
  • Ensure systematic filing of all completion paperwork and estimates.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, we are looking for a proactive and well-organised candidate with previous administration experience in a commercial team within the construction industry. Key skills include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ambition to progress in a career in Quantity Surveying
