The Role
We’re seeking a Commercial Business Analyst to join our commercial and operational finance teams. This pivotal role supports pricing, bid and tender estimating, and margin analysis. You’ll work closely with our CFO, commercial team, and production managers to ensure cost accuracy, improve margin visibility, and speed up quoting for new and existing business.
This is a key growth support role to the commercial sales organization of Siva Group.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain robust pricing and costing models across our product portfolio
· Ensure gross margin actual vs forecast by customer is monitored and reported monthly
· Analyse actual vs standard costs and identify areas for improvement
· Deliver accurate costings to support commercial pricing decisions
· Collaborate with the CFO to build and maintain a centralised cost database for rapid estimating
· Provide insights to support margin improvement, budgeting, and forecasting
· Product reporting – sales (volume & mix), cost, margin.
· Sales reporting and analysis for senior level stakeholders.
· Analysis of KPI reports including channel, customer, product profitability providing investigation and commentary on variance to plan for the SLT.
· Month end commentary and analysis of sales and margin comparisons to prior year, liaison with Commercial team to understand/challenge and draw insight on performance, risks and opportunities
· Staying close to competitor activity, customer feedback, and regulatory changes.
Must-haves:
· Degree qualified, or hold similar level professional qualification, in a STEM or other quantitative subject such as Economics, Business, Finance etc
· 2+ years in revenue and cost management supporting sales/commercial teams
· Sector experience, ideally manufacturing; others considered- construction, logistics, consulting.
· Strong analytical mindset — comfortable working with large datasets to spot patterns and shape margin improvements
· Strong attention to detail, plus self-organisational and self-checking skills to deal with the requirements of working on large tenders with tight deadlines and complex data.
· Highly proficient in Excel; confident in tools like PowerPoint and Office Apps.
· Clear communicator with experience influencing commercial decisions
· Able to juggle multiple priorities and shift between routine tasks and more strategic projects
· A genuine interest in understanding how price and margin impact business performance.
Nice to have:
· Qualified accountant CIMA / ACA/ACCA.
· Sage, ERP systems and SQL or other data querying tools
· Good grasp of P&L basics such as margin, cashflow, time-value-of-money, etc
· Experience with packaging / flexible PE packaging.
