Role and key responsibilities

This is a Senior Commercial Accounting Analyst role to support the Senior Finance Manager for the Konexo Practice Group.


The main purpose of this role is to support the Senior Finance Manager and Partnership in analysing and reviewing performance across the business area, proactively providing real time support to the Partners and leadership team. To become a trusted advisor and to provide assistance to the business with regards to decision-making and driving improved KPIs and profitability, as well as supporting the SFM and practice in delivering on strategic initiatives.


As part of the Commercial Finance team of around 20 employees you will be responsible for, but not limited to:


  • The month end process, ensuring accounting entries are correct, creating journals as required and producing monthly reporting packs, P&L reviews & variance analysis.
  • Being the primary point of contact for all finance-related queries.
  • Writing commentary and producing packs to include in business performance reports.
  • Analytical support for the SFM and Konexo teams.
  • Budgeting, planning and forecasting.
  • Analysis and modelling in relation to pricing and profitability.
  • Dealing with audit and tax queries as necessary.
  • Work in tandem with the rest of the Commercial team to ensure quality control and best practice is developed including streamlining processes and analysis.
  • Dealing with queries proactively and in a time manner.
  • Adept at managing expectations across all key stakeholders.
  • Supporting the SFM and Firm across projects as required.


Skills and experience

  • The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant.
  • You should have proven client-facing and organisational skills, with experience in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of analysis and interpreting financial data and explaining key findings with strong excel skills..
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must including experience of validating data sets and sense checking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with building Powerpoint presentations.
  • Experience of presenting information to senior stakeholders in a concise and easy to understand manner.
  • You will be ambitious, client-focused and keen to learn, able to work in a busy work environment, and used to working to strict deadlines.
