Job Description: Commercial Litigation Senior Associate (4+ PQE)

Location: Central Manchester

Practice Area: Commercial Litigation / Dispute Resolution

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Consistently ranked in the leading legal directories, our dispute resolution team is known for handling complex, high-value litigation for major corporates, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and public sector clients. As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Senior Associate to join our thriving team.

The Role

As a Senior Associate, you will work on a diverse and high-performing caseload of complex commercial disputes, with the opportunity to take a leadership role on major cases and support junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing a broad range of commercial disputes including contractual claims, shareholder/director disputes, professional negligence, fraud, breach of duty and high-value business litigation.
Acting for a broad client base including corporates, financial institutions, professional services firms, SMEs and high-net-worth individuals.
Taking a lead role in case strategy, client management and project delivery on major matters.
Handling all stages of dispute resolution including pre-action strategy, mediation/ADR, interim applications, trial preparation and enforcement.
Overseeing and mentoring junior lawyers, providing guidance, supervision and contributing to team development.
Drafting and reviewing complex pleadings, witness statements, expert instructions and settlement agreements.
Managing risk, ensuring best practice compliance and maintaining excellent file and case management.
Supporting business development initiatives, contributing to pitches, attending networking events and helping grow key client relationships.

The successful candidate will bring:

4+ years’ PQE in commercial litigation/dispute resolution from a reputable regional, national or international firm.
Demonstrable experience in handling complex, high-value disputes.
Excellent technical ability, strong strategic thinking and sound commercial judgment.
Confidence in client-facing roles and the ability to build lasting relationships.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members is advantageous.
