Role Purpose
Responsible for the Commercial activities and support for Glacier Energy Manufacturing (GEM) and maintaining a commercial focus and control across the operations team. Working with the General Manager, Operations Director and Business Development Director to achieve the Manufacturing business goals and financial targets.
Accountability
- Implementing commercial governance and tools to support the operational activity in Manufacturing.
- Managing the Approved Vendors List for Customers & Suppliers, working with operations and project teams to ensure this is maintained.
- Bid support with Business Development, providing contractual and estimating support.
- Responsible for reviewing Terms and Conditions, as per the Delegation Of Authority.
- Responsible for the Estimating Processes and team, supporting the Bid Process commercially to delivery.
- Conducting Risk Reviews.
- Responsible for the Procurement Processes and team within Manufacturing, ensuring appropriate governance is in place.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within operations for cost control and commercial governance.
- Mentor and upskill staff in both cost and commercial management.
- Ensure that working practices and processes are fit for purpose and support the business operations.
Experience
- Degree / technical certification / experience in a relevant subject or acceptable relevant experience
- Proven manufacturing experience within the energy industry
- Able to demonstrate working to deadlines
- Leadership skills
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of improving efficiency, effectiveness of manpower and commercial processes
- IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint programs
- Willingness to travel
