Wood is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to drive the commercial delivery and governance on a critical project for a high profile client within our Systems Integration team as part of the Digital Consulting business.
This role will be on a contractor PSC basis for a minimum of 6 months.
There is a requirement for hybrid working with Tuesday and Wednesday being based out of one of the following locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow or Staines.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
The Role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-paced lump sum project being responsible for managing all aspects of contract administration in line with NEC4 contract format.
The Commercial Manager will also work closely with the project controls team having an oversight of the financials for the contract and supporting the management team with driving best practice commercial delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial professional from either a quantity surveying or contract administration background with proven working experience in driving commercial delivery and improvement.

Responsibilities
Key Objectives for this role:
- Maximise commercial performance while managing project risk (post-contract)
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
- Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
- Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the Project
- Managing the tender governance process for the Project
- Manages and provides project team members with the general direction in commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout

Expected
- Degree in relevant commercial discipline
- Significant proven experience within a Commercial role across complex projects
- Proven experience in contract administration including change management and experience working on NEC 4 contracts
- Experience in contract negotiations
- Experience in claims & dispute resolution (pre and post-litigation experience preferred)
- Utmost integrity
- Excellent communication skills, written, oral, and presentation
- Excellent ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business both internally and externally
