What You’ll Be Doing
- Receiving and processing Purchase Orders and Purchase Order amendments in accordance with Commercial processes, procedures, and the requirements of the business
- Ensuring current data is maintained in the Oracle ERP system
- Communicating progress updates to customers, resolving issues, and escalating more critical issues to senior members of staff
- Supporting bid submissions to customers in line with internal policies, which includes pricing, supporting terms and conditions review, proposal writing and negotiations
- Supporting other members of the Commercial team as required
- Providing support and guidance to Project Management teams
Your Skills And Experiences
- Minimum of five GCSEs – Grade 5 or above (or recognised equivalent qualifications) which must include English and Maths
- Two A levels A-C grade (or recognised equivalent qualification)
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Be driven and self-motivated with a desire to develop an exciting and rewarding career

The Commercial Team
The principal purpose of the Commercial function is to negotiate, agree and support contracts that provide a Commercial framework within which BAE Systems can deliver world class capabilities to customers whilst minimising risk and maximising shareholder value. Part of our role is to ensure that proposals to BAE Systems’ customers are priced, developed and approved in an acceptable manner and to submit the associated offers.
The Commercial function is the trusted partner of the business; managing customer relationships, creating innovative solutions, and providing guidance on contractual, regulatory and governance matters.
