Commissioning Engineer Opportunities
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We have opportunities for Commissioning Engineers to work on a wide range of projects. You’ll ensure submarine systems are installed and functioning to the highest safety and regulatory standards. You’ll inspect, test, and integrate systems and equipment, diagnose faults, and propose corrective solutions. This role blends academic knowledge with practical skills across electrical, mechanical, and naval architecture disciplines.
What you’ll do:
- Inspecting, testing, and setting to work submarine systems and equipment
- Designing and implementing safe isolations
- Diagnosing faults and proposing corrective actions
- Compiling technical documentation
- Supervising and guiding industrial staff
What you’ll need:
- Experience with technical system drawings and documentation
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Ability to work to high standards in a dynamic environment
- Transferable skills from electrical, mechanical, constructive, or naval architecture backgrounds
- Practical and academic engineering knowledge
- Level 3 or Level 4 engineering apprenticeship, or
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Preferred: Experience in submarine or defence engineering environments
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
