Childrens Commissioning Officer (x2) Sefton Council
Sefton Council is recruiting two new Childrens Commissioning Officers to join our ambitious and forward-thinking team. If youre passionate about improving outcomes for children and familiesand either come with solid experience or are keen to build your expertisewe want to hear from you!

As a Commissioning Officer, youll lead the full commissioning cycledesigning, delivering, and developing services that truly make a difference. From contract management and quality oversight to stakeholder engagement and strategic planning, youll help shape high-quality services that meet the diverse needs of our children and young people.
Our team commissions a wide range of support services, including provision for cared-for children and those with special educational needs. Youll work across different service areas but will have the opportunity to develop your own areas of specialism.
Key Responsibilities
- Support our Homefinding team to commission timely, local, high-quality care
- Drive tender processes in partnership with our Procurement Team
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with partners and providers
- Help the local authority deliver value for money
- Produce high-quality reports that influence strategy and decision-making
