Based in Oxford, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small, world-leading consultancy specialising in critical metals and technology research.
Job description
The position would suit a graduate with one to two year's work experience from a scientific (including mining geology/mining), economics or humanities background with an active interest in the global financial markets and commodities.
The role will involve monitoring global macroeconomic developments, metal investment, commodity supply/demand, company reporting and technology evolution, to provide ongoing authoritative metals market commentary and analysis. Previous experience in a role involved with commodities would be an advantage and would be reflected in the remuneration package offered.
Familiarity with Bloomberg terminals is preferred, but training can be provided if necessary. The work will require contribution to weekly metals market commentary, leveraging off market announcements, insights, live statistical databases and commodity supply-demand databases. Experience of Adobe InDesign will be required to publish reports.
In addition, you may be involved in sectoral industry analysis and database management for forward-looking quarterly and biannual market reports for financial institutions, end users and supplier companies.
If you are in the early stages of your career, you will have the opportunity to work closely with an experienced analyst to gain experience. However, we are also happy to receive applications from experienced commodity analysts.
