Communications Officer – Transport

Do you have experience working in a communications service, delivering campaigns and project work? We are looking for a passionate individual to work as our Communications Officer to support our Transport Department deliver key communications functions including campaigns, marketing, media and public relations, and digital media.

About the post

As a Communications Officer you will support the day-to-day delivery of the Councils Communications Services, this includes:

• Delivering communication activities in support of key Council campaigns and projects.

• Supporting media enquiries and developing press releases, statements, briefings, and other copywriting, including social media and website content.

• Working with teams across the Council to develop communications programmes and plans for public engagement activities.

• Supporting teams to manage their website content, in line with corporate communications guidance.

The ideal candidate

• Will hold a relevant qualification or possess recent experience in the field.

• Will have experience working in a communications arena, including the coordination of campaigns and marketing activity.

• Will have experience in writing and editing press releases and other publications

• Will have good working knowledge of online communication tools including website and social media tools.
