Communications Specialist

Location: Filton (60% onsite)

Contract (Inside IR35): Until April 2027 possible extension

Pay: £33.44 per hour Umbrella / £25.00 per hour PAYE

Hours: 35 per week (overtime paid at standard rate)

About the Role

We’re recruiting an experienced Communications Specialist to join a large, high-profile organisation on an interim basis. This is a key maternity cover role working closely with UK and global communication teams to deliver effective, engaging communications both internally and externally.

You will act as a trusted business partner - managing communication requests, shaping content, and driving strategic comms plans across multiple functions. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality content at pace.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver communication plans aligned to business priorities
Produce high-quality content including articles, events materials, photo/video assets, community updates and internal communications

Manage and prioritise communication requests, ensuring alignment to strategic plans

Support community engagement and local stakeholder relations

Collaborate with site leadership teams, HR, Public Affairs, unions and cross-functional colleagues

Lead comms projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams where required

Maintain governance tools and communication tracking systems

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in internal, external, or community communications
Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills
Ability to quickly build relationships and influence at all levels
Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability
Experience working in large or complex organisations
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Not a marketing role - this role is pure communications
