About The Role
LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.
We are looking for a someone with great organisational and communication skills to be our next Community Officer, supporting our community safety team. The community safety team deliver several programmes throughout the year. This includes the Village Angels, a nighttime safety project, that has been delivered in Manchester City Centre on Friday and Saturday nights for nearly fifteen years. The community safety programme also supports the LGBTQ+ community through relationships with Greater Manchester Police and fostering better community engagement between them and our service users, as well as working with Manchester City Council on deliver of Hate Crime Awareness training. We also can support people in getting legal support and deliver a monthly Community Café in our office in central Manchester.
This role will be based in Manchester and may include working from home, but will require availability for face-to-face delivery, there will be some weekends to support with the Community Café. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Role Accountabilities
Volunteer Support:
This role supports volunteer coordination by handling queries, managing applications, arranging observation shifts, and scheduling training. It also includes ordering team supplies and contributing to volunteer engagement through socials and activities.
Case Admin
This role will be support with referrals through our website for legal support; this will include queue management, triaging, sending the details through to our partner solicitors, and sometimes following up with the service user by e-mail.
Events Delivery
The role will support the delivery of several key Community events, including participation in scheduling for the GMP engagement events and Hate Crime Awareness training. They will also support with the delivery of the monthly Community Café.
Record Management
Maintaining up-to-date shift notes following shifts every weekend, to ensure that all the data is correctly captures and reflected. This includes service user dates, overall interaction figures, and volunteer hours. This will apply to all events delivered. The Officer will also review the detailed anecdotal information from shifts and ensure that it is all accurate and assigned to the correct shifts, and this will be particularly important in line with reporting cycles.
