About The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a secondment/fixed term contract, to work in the Complex Needs Team. The Complex Needs Team is a fast paced, forward thinking, and a national award-winning team. If you want to expand your knowledge and have the opportunity to be part of an innovative service, then this is the role for you.

The complex needs service covers learning disabilities, autism, dementia, delirium, and mental health. The post holder will support the whole complex needs agenda.

Main duties

Under the supervision of the Lead Nurse for Complex Needs you will promote a quality service using research and evidence-based practice including the setting, monitoring, facilitating, and auditing of clinical standards/pathways.

You will support improvements in experience and quality of care, for patients with Complex Needs, by supporting a holistic approach to care and ensuring the physical needs of patients are addressed. This is achieved by supporting patients in a planned and unplanned capacity to receive excellent patient experience each and every time.

Qualifications

Key requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse. NMC Registration.

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised teaching qualification post-registration qualification or experience of teaching. Independent Prescriber

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive clinical experience caring for patients with one of the complex needs (Learning Disability, Autism, Dementia, Delirium or Mental Health). Evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of audit, research, and evidence-based care.

Knowledge and Awareness

Essential criteria

  • In depth specialist knowledge into at least one of the Complex Needs.

Desirable criteria

  • Awareness of safeguarding agenda and mental capacity act agenda.
