Purpose


The Compliance &Risk Manager (1LOD) will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining effective risk management and compliance frameworks within a newly created part of the business.

This new business unit will help millions of customers with the complexities of their impending retirement life stages, which will include advised and non-advised financial support.

This role is critical to the success of the new business, involving close collaboration with a range of stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


Skills and Knowledge


  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and UK compliance frameworks
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Skilled at managing and influencing complex stakeholders
  • Proven risk identification, mitigation, and management capabilities
  • Experience driving regulatory or business change
  • High customer focus and service orientation
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to help build and grow a business
  • Able to implement effective, compliant processes and controls


Experience


  • Demonstrated experience in first line compliance function within financial services, preferably in a startup or scale-up environment
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, with hands-on experience applying them in practice
  • Proven track record working with conduct and customer risk regimes
  • Knowledge of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and direct experience engaging with the FCA
  • Experience with DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) financial products is essential
