About the role:
As a Compliance lead, you'll play a vital role in protecting CRU’s intellectual property, managing contract and copyright compliance, and driving continuous improvement in our compliance practices. You’ll work closely with internal teams across departments and regions, contributing directly to the integrity and sustainability of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Compliance & Management
- Partner with Sales and internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks across the contract lifecycle.
- Review and advise on commercial agreements, renewals, and amendments, with a focus on licensing, IP, copyright, and data usage.
- Monitor and address contract breaches in collaboration with the Global Head of Compliance.
- Lead improvements to the contract process for greater efficiency and consistency.
Copyright & Subscription Oversight
- Ensure global copyright and IP compliance, aligning CRU content and data use with legal and internal standards.
- Oversee CRU’s subscription portfolio, monitoring for and resolving any copyright issues.
- Manage select in-house subscriptions, including license tracking and entitlement oversight.
Compliance Operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and guidance across CRU.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to enhance internal controls and align with evolving regulations.
- Promote a culture of compliance through training, communication, and engagement.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to the Global Risk and Compliance Committee.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a compliance role or within a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of the commodities sector, particularly mining, metals, and fertilisers.
- Demonstrated experience in contract management, audits, and the development of compliance frameworks.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage projects independently across global, multicultural teams.
- A collaborative and approachable attitude, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to align compliance with business goals.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, international business environment.
