Job purpose


To ensure institutional integrity and uphold admissions standards by conducting structured interviews with applicants to assess their genuine intent to study. This role supports the university’s compliance framework by identifying and mitigating potential risks related to applicant suitability, engagement, and motivation. Through consistent, fair, and well-documented interviews, the role contributes to maintaining high-quality student admissions and safeguarding the student experience.



Main duties and responsibilities


  • Work closely with admissions staff, and key stake holders across business to OIEG is fully compliant with its Student sponsorship duties.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of UKVI requirements and an overview of the Student route points-based system.
  • Support the UKVI Compliance Manager in preparing and maintaining readiness for an institutional audit by UKVI.
  • Organise and maintain Tier 4/Student route files, ensuring that all the correct documentation is readily available in the event of an audit.Assist in the checking and vetting of documents.
  • Assist with enrolment process/ID checks and follow up any missing documentation.
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of attendance and engagement of students, liaising with academic departments where necessary.
  • Respond to e-mails, telephone calls and conduct face-to-face interviews to ascertain credibility, suitability and study intent.
  • Assist with any other such duties within the scope and spirit of the job title,


Planning & Organising

Plan and manage own work load to ensure that SLA’s are achieved at all times. This will include the need to prioritise own workload on a daily basis,


Relationships & Communication

To build strong internal working relationships and establish regular lines of communication with Admissions Officers based both overseas and within the UK, the global recruitment teams as well as senior management and other key stakeholders

Education / Qualifications


  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent, this position requires someone to navigate the complex, challenging and constantly changing immigration compliance environment.
  • A second language (Desirable)


Knowledge & Experience


  • Experience of working in a process driven environment
  • Methodical with great attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • A flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload, manage shifting demands and ensure deadlines are met
  • High level of computer literacy –confident in the use of Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook and student data systems
  • Administration skills to plan and organise their time effectively.
  • To work with high level of autonomy as well as a team member
  • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with University staff, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the need for providing proactive and high-level customer service
  • Experience in understanding complex and detailed policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working with colleagues across multiple locations (Desirable)
  • Evidence of technical understanding of UKVI regulations and requirements in relation to Tier 4/Student route (Desirable)
