Computer Numerical Control Machinist

About the Role:

You'll be working in a clean, modern, and well-equipped precision engineering environment, setting and operating Mazak turning centres to produce high-spec components for industries where failure simply isn't an option. Think aerospace, defence, motorsport, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Setting and operating Mazak CNC turning machinery
• Programming online and offline using Fanuc controls
• Modifying/editing programs to suit materials and tooling
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data
• Carrying out in-process inspection using gauges and precision instruments
• Deburring and finishing components to a high standard
• Completing route cards and submitting parts for inspection
• Assisting with basic machine maintenance (oil, coolant, cleaning, etc.)
• Contributing to continuous improvement activities
• Collaborating with your team to meet tight deadlines and maintain quality standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Ideally a time-served apprentice with at least 5 years’ experience in CNC turning
• Confident with Fanuc controls and Mazak machines
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
• Detail-focused and quality-conscious
• Comfortable programming online and offline
• A team player with good communication skills
• PC literate and organised in your work
