Configuration Manager – Portsmouth – £41/hr Umbrella | £30.34/hr PAYE

Are you an experienced Configuration Manager looking for your next challenge in a highly regulated technical environment? We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our team in Portsmouth for a 12-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

About the Role

As a Configuration Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our Configuration and Data Management (CADM) team, ensuring best practices are followed and company guidelines are upheld. You’ll support project, product, and service teams, acting as the focal point for configuration activities and providing first-line support and training for PLM/CMDB tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead configuration management activities including identification, control, planning, change, status accounting, and audits.
• Maintain and distribute controlled data and documentation.
• Produce and manage configuration plans and change management procedures.
• Support internal and external stakeholders with CM compliance and evidence.
• Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and manage configuration structures (BOMs, Product Trees, etc.).
• Drive process improvements and support tool development and training.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Configuration Management within a technical or data management environment.
• Strong knowledge of CM principles (CMII, APQP exposure desirable).
• Proficiency in MS Office and data/file management tools.
• Experience with Product Data Management tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva).
• Understanding of product and project lifecycles.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Details

• Location: Portsmouth
• Security Clearance: SC required (can start on BPSS)
• Work Pattern: 35 hours/week over 4.5 days (between 7am–7pm)
• Travel: None required
• Interview: 1-hour virtual interview via GMeet
