Description

Derbyshire is a beautiful and diverse county which contains the East Midland’s only World Heritage Site.


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Derbyshire County Council’s Conservation, Heritage and Design Service.


The Service consists of officers with expertise in built heritage conservation, landscape architecture, archaeology, ecology and urban design, and hosts the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Coordination Team as well as the Derbyshire Historic Environment Record.


We are looking for a built heritage Conservation Officer with 2 to 3 years + post qualification experience to join this multidisciplinary service to provide conservation advice to the Council and its partners, including the Council’s Planning Service. You will be instrumental in shaping the Council’s approach the historic built environment.


You will need a good understanding of historic building conservation philosophy and practice, including how heritage is stewarded through the planning and listed building consent systems.
