The Construction Assistant is responsible for delivering effective design and delivery of agreed outputs of low voltage Diversions, Service Alterations, Disconnections, Add Loads and new supplies for single and three-phase. Fully utilising customer management, commercial / financial control and Project Management to secure the safe delivery of projects to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
Working within the Connections team for North Wales you will facilitate and co-ordinate all aspects of the Projects assigned to you via the Project Leader and help assist with pre-vetting projects, arranging site meetings, liaising with 3rd parties and providing excellent customer service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping to support designs are delivered safely and comply with Company and statutory requirements and update the business on required changes as they arise, working with the engineering team.
- Completing some project management and financial control of connections projects (control, forecasting expenditure, income, variations, and scheme management).
- Ensure effective communications with customers providing regular updates in relation to project timescales and delivery using all forms of communication, phone, e-mail, and CRM.
- Respond appropriately to Customer Complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate delivering excellent customer service.
- Focus on continuous improvement through quality processes while ensuring standard of safety, quality and environmental management met with zero accident rates.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered within timescales and to costs.
- Comply with site and workplace audits.
- Attendance at monthly team meetings.
- Provide interface with contractors and internal businesses to assist in the delivery of projects.
- Provide interface with Work Planning to establish a robust programme of works both with Contrcators and internal staff.
- Completing site meetings for projects within the minor connections team which will involved delivering materials to site, communicating effectively with customers to ensure projects can be delievered within our timescales to help achieve maximum reward within the business.
- Communiting within the North Wales District to help support a team of project coordinators to deliver their projects works in a timely manner.
What You’ll Bring
- Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
- Developed customer service skills.
- Contract management skills and general commercial & regulatory awareness.
- Developed negotiation, communication and people management skills.
- Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
- Working knowledge of Energy Network IT systems.
- Will need to learn SAP to raise P.O.’s, material requisitions and Teco schemes, along with CRM.
Minimum Criteria
- Crafts qualification, apprenticeship, S/NVQ or equivalent experience in relevant engineering areas such Construction, Electrical or Civil Engineering
- Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite.
- Full UK Driving License
