Consultancy Associate
EI Grade 7 [£38,692 – £47,471]
The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive associate to support consultancy services for academics at the University of Edinburgh. The role will work within a team at Edinburgh Innovations (the commercialisation service of the University of Edinburgh) with a specific focus on academics that are part of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.
EI provides comprehensive support to all University staff considering undertaking consultancy and service work. Consultancy Associates facilitate the costing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and signing of Consultancy and Service contracts and all related documents in-line with university policy and local procedures.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. The post will require a minimum of 3 days per week on site. The role will also require the holder to have a flexible approach, as there will be a requirement to work and to join meetings at locations across the wider University campus, including Roslin and Easter Bush, BioQuarter, Western General, Central and Kings Buildings. There will be an initial period where the post holder will be required to work on site 100% of the time.
Your Skills And Attributes For Success
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is able to work within a team, but with a degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment, helping university staff to provide consultancy services to commercial partners.
- You will be able to evidence your pro-active approach with a high level of attention to detail providing an excellent professional service for both the academic and external clients.
- Any experience in the costing and negotiating of contracts would be advantageous.
- An interest in the research capability at the University of Edinburgh, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine would also be advantageous.
