Join the new South West Clinical Genetics Service — a forward-thinking, patient-focused collaboration hosted by the Royal Devon, at a pivotal moment in its transformation. With unmatched genomics infrastructure, national and international research, and a strong emphasis on flexible, fulfilling careers, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new model for clinical genetics across the region.
Whether your interests lie in paediatric, prenatal, cardiac or cancer genetics, or another sub-specialty area of rare disease, you’ll find space to grow and contribute to a service built on innovation, research excellence and supportive multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, region-wide service at a pivotal moment. With main hubs in Bristol and Exeter, and clinics delivered across the region, our service is underpinned by nationally and internationally renowned genomics laboratories, strong academic partnerships, and high-performing multidisciplinary teams. We aim to provide high-quality, equitable care to a population of over 4.4 million people living across the South West. You’ll benefit from:
* Flexibility to base your role in either Bristol or Exeter (clinics will be predominantly based in Bristol)
* Support for any subspecialty interest – including paediatrics, prenatal, cancer, cardiac, neurogenetics, and more
* A team of experienced genetic counsellors, genomic practitioners, family history coordinators and skilled admin staff
* Integrated digital systems (Epic and PhenoTips) for seamless, data-informed care
* Research opportunities through the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre
* Direct collaboration with the South West Genomics Laboratory Hub, which includes England’s national rapid whole genome sequencing service for acutely unwell children
