Active Care Group would like to invite applications for a part-time Consultant Neuropsychiatrist post, with a special interest in Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation. We would also welcome applications from General Psychiatrists, Liaison Psychiatrists and other Consultant Psychiatrists who have a specialist interest in Neuropsychiatry and / or Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation.
The post is based at the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre (FBIRC). The FBIRC is the Level 1 specialist inter-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation centre serving the South West region. The centre operates within a joint working arrangement between North Bristol NHS Trust and Active Care Group.
At FBIRC, the post-holder will divide the management of the 29 Level 1, and 23 Level 2 in-patients, with the two Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, depending on medical/psychiatric need.
We are looking to appoint a consultant who will offer a high quality, clinical service for the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury, provide clinical leadership to the inter-disciplinary team and play an integral role in the further development of rehabilitation pathways across the South West. The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and the development of academic and research interests will be encouraged.
The site is part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites) nationally and collaborates with local NHS services due to a joint working arrangement with North Bristol NHS Trust. We focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation and technology to meet patient’s expectations of rehabilitation goals.
Our team work closely together to ensure that every team member is working towards the same practical, realistic goals and that all therapies are focused on the areas that will enable patients to achieve those clearly defined and agreed goals.
