Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Crisis and Home Treatment Team in Worthing, providing senior clinical leadership to support adults experiencing acute mental health crisis. This post also includes 1 PA of dedicated medical input into The Haven, a nurse-led crisis assessment and short-stay service based at the Swandean Hospital site.
About the role
As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key leadership role within acute community services, delivering specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment, supporting safe alternatives to admission and working closely with inpatient wards, community teams and partner services. You will lead multidisciplinary discussions, supervise junior medical staff, contribute to teaching and training, and actively support clinical governance, quality improvement and service development. This is a senior, high-impact role where you will help shape crisis pathways and ensure high-quality, responsive care for people at their most vulnerable.

About you
You will be a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist (or within six months of CCT) with approved clinician status (or able to achieve). You will bring strong clinical skills, experience of working within acute or crisis services, and a collaborative, values-led approach to care. You will be motivated to work across urgent care pathways, support multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the ongoing development of crisis services.
