The Consumer Duty Delivery Team sits in the Consumer Policy and Outcomes (CPO) Department, in the Cross Cutting Policy and Strategy Directorate. The directorate’s goal is to maintain a regulatory framework that sets clear standards we expect of all firms and individuals in UK financial services, to prevent harm to consumers or markets. The team plays a central role in the delivery of the Consumer Duty.
Our delivery work includes: external engagement on the Duty; internal training, engagement and embedding of the Duty; drawing together our organisational Consumer Duty workplan; and delivery of cross-cutting work across a range of topics, including outcomes monitoring, smaller firms, and distribution chains.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a talented colleague to join us as a Lead Associate in the Consumer Duty Policy team. The role offers an exciting opportunity to drive forward our approach to realising the benefits of the Duty, for consumers and firms.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of several cross-cutting projects in the Consumer Duty Delivery team, and our approach to proactive and reactive stakeholder management and communication. In doing so, you will provide input on the team’s wider work and shape how we report to senior committees on the progress in implementing the Duty
- You will line manage Associates / Senior Associates; work through others to plan and deliver their programme of work; and work closely with the team’s manager to motivate and manage the team, supporting and developing colleagues
What will you get from the role?
- This role is an exciting opportunity to drive forward work on the Consumer Duty, a high-profile and powerful regulatory intervention that is making a significant positive difference for UK consumers
- You will have the opportunity to play a role in making sure the FCA uses its resources efficiently and effectively to deliver good consumer outcomes, including the planning and prioritisation of those activities that will have the biggest impact
- This role will give you the opportunity to build and develop relationships across the organisation, including regular engagement with senior leadership. You will use and develop a range of collaboration and influencing techniques to partner with teams across the organisation. You will have the chance to use creativity, lateral thinking and excellent analysis to think about how we can address challenges
- Your work will be high-profile, intellectually stimulating, and supported by a friendly and welcoming team of Consumer Duty experts working together to achieve team successes
