At Whyte & Mackay, we’re looking for a Consumer Insights Lead to put genuine human understanding at the heart of our brands and commercial decisions. You’ll turn data into direction, insight into impact, and help shape the future of premium and luxury whisky across priority global markets.

What the opportunity looks like:

Own the insight agenda end‑to‑end — scope, commission and deliver multi‑market studies that capture consumer and cultural nuance, then translate findings into commercial action.
Turn insight into strategy — craft frameworks that sharpen brand positioning, portfolio architecture and long‑range planning, partnering closely with Marketing, Category and Commercial teams.
Know the luxury whisky drinker — map motivations, barriers, occasions and cultural shifts to unlock growth in premium and luxury tiers.
Fuel innovation and brand evolution — provide insight leadership for NPI, pack architecture, equity refresh and restage programmes.

Elevate creative effectiveness — support campaign development with testing, evaluation and premiumisation frameworks that raise the bar.

Build best‑in‑class — help evolve a modern insights function alongside our Category Insights Lead; create compelling selling stories for customers and distributors.

Connect digital behaviour and analytics — partner with Digital, D2C and Data teams to bring together shopper signals, platform data and AI‑supported analysis (e.g., Copilot) for faster, smarter decisions.

About you (skills & experience):

Significant experience in insights/category (ideally spirits/wine) — Scotch experience is a plus, not a must.
A track record of shaping marketing or category strategy using consumer, category and shopper understanding.
Strong multi‑market research leadership and stakeholder influence.
Comfortable with AI‑powered tools (Copilot preferred, not essential) and modern analytics stacks.
