Contract Opportunity: Content Designer (GDS Experience Required)
We are currently looking for an experienced Content Designer to help us deliver on one of our government projects.
Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to meetings
Duration: September 2025 - Jan 2026
Rate: £400pd inside IR35
Start Date: Early September
As a Content Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping clear, user-centred content for digital government services. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver content that meets user needs and aligns with the GDS Service Standard and GOV.UK style guide.
- Create, iterate and manage content across digital services and platforms
- Work collaboratively with user researchers, designers, developers, and stakeholders
- Use evidence, data and research to inform content decisions
- Ensure all content meets accessibility, usability, and GDS standards
- Contribute to content strategies and service design processes
- Participate in content critiques, peer reviews and agile ceremonies
- Proven experience working as a Content Designer on government digital services
- Strong knowledge of GDS principles, including the Service Standard and GOV.UK style guide
- Experience writing for the web, with proven ability to create user-centred content
- Ability to explain content decisions clearly and persuasively to stakeholders
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams
- Understanding of content design as part of end-to-end service design
