We are now looking for a
Continuous Improvement Manager - Navy
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and remote and will be based in the UK at our site in Havant.
What you will be doing
You will stream and develop the end-to-end flow to efficiently serve our customers needs, Play a key role in setting up CI Practice’s and being a training facilitator and CI Coach.
As the Continuous Improvement Manager - Navy, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Lead improvement initiatives, both within WDSL and across our global organisation
- Coach the organisation on CI to make it an integral part of our daily business
- Participate in translating our growth strategy to executable action plans
- Lead the Continuous Improvement work within our Navy Value Stream, using the Wärtsilä CI framework
- Perform value stream mapping and analysis
- Launch improvement initiatives within and across manufacturing sites and global sales and service organisation to eliminate waste, increase customer satisfaction, or optimize operations
- Drive continuous improvement of the value stream together with WDSL Management Team members through KPI’s and regular dialogues with key stakeholders
- Co-own the CI framework and way-of-working in WDSL as part of the WDSL core CI team
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Proven experience in growing an organisation to include continuous improvement in their culture
- High level of cultural awareness and experience in leading initiatives in a multinational environment
- Comfort with constant change
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Systems Thinking as basis for both small and big improvements
- Motivated and positive attitude to identify practical solutions
- Professional history demonstrating results both from independent work and as part of a team.
- Ability to take responsibility for your work and take the initiative to secure the completion of your tasks
- Diplomatic in approach to energise and persuade needed efforts across varied functions
- Displays logical sound judgement and maintains the highest ethical standards
- Willing to travel on occasion
- Understanding of the navy market is seen as an advantage
- The job is offered subject to successfully obtaining security clearance. Any applicants must hold a British Passport or be eligible to hold one and have resided in the UK continuously for the last 5 years
(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
