Continuous Improvement Practitioner
Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
Location: Durrington and other sites within the region four times a week and one day WFH per week.
The Continuous Improvement Practitioner is responsible for driving a continuous improvement mindset by collaborating with the Operational Control team identifying opportunities to improve, demonstrating the benefits and value each opportunity will deliver, and driving delivery of improvements in an effectively prioritised way.
The successor will build effective relationships across the Operational Control Centre and wider operational teams to identify and prioritise opportunities to improve and/or embed what is successful and will provide the biggest end-to-end improvement to our environmental, operational and customer performance.
The successor will utilise relevant methodologies to remove waste, propose efficiencies and improve processes, building the foundations of a continuous improvement culture within Southern Water, targeted towards the Operational Control Centre and considering interconnected cross-functional departments.
The successor will be confident in co-ordinating and facilitating workshops and mapping exercises with subject matter experts and business process owners. Working with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure there is alignment, and a smooth roll out of any changes into the operation.
The role requires a confident individual who can understand complex problems and offer solutions through improvements to processes, procedures, and behaviours.
The successor will be an advocate for change and be able to drive and engage multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
To be successful in this role, you would need to have:
- A relevant Level 4 or equivalent qualification, e.g. Continuous Improvement, Data Analysis Apprenticeship, Root Cause Analysis
- Root Cause Analysis experience
- Process Development experience
- A great understanding of Learning Styles & Delivery
- Strong experience of process Mapping
- Process Transformation experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify a problem to understand possible solutions with minimal technical expertise
- Good facilitation and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work on own initiative to deliver solutions
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Effective at process management.
