Description

We’re seeking a skilled Data Developer with a financial services background to join a large-scale data migration and platform modernisation programme within a leading banking organisation. This contract role sits at the heart of a transformation initiative, supporting modern data platforms and enabling accurate, reliable, and data-driven decision-making across the business.

About the Role

As a Data Developer, you will take a lead role in migrating complex data from legacy systems to modern platforms, working closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and traceability throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data solutions using the Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL) and cloud technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, DataBricks, and Power BI.
Lead end-to-end data migration activities, from source analysis through mapping, transformation, validation, and deployment.

Analyse legacy data structures and quality to inform migration strategies.

Translate business requirements into robust technical specifications and scalable solutions.

Perform data profiling, cleansing, and quality remediation.

Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery, contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Produce and maintain technical documentation and reports to support compliance and knowledge transfer.

Skills and Expertise

Strong experience with Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL).
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, DataBricks, Power BI, and cloud-based ETL/ELT pipelines.
Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL or PL/SQL).
Expertise in data migration, data warehousing, and BI solutions.
Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and test automation.
Must have prior experience in financial services or banking environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously or collaboratively.
