Role Overview


Dalkia Energy Solutions (DES) delivers long-term energy performance contracting solutions, providing guaranteed energy, carbon, and maintenance savings over 5–25 years. Our portfolio includes energy performance and maintenance contracts, Dalkia Low Carbon Solutions (DKLCS), M&V services, and the Barkantine Heat and Power Company (BHPC) district heating scheme.

The Client Manager is responsible for ensuring all contracts are delivered to agreed financial and operational performance levels, while maintaining strong client relationships and managing service providers. The role reports to the Head of Asset Performance.


Key Responsibilities


Contract Management

  • Lead the management of all EPC and O&M contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and adherence to business objectives.
  • Oversee third-party contractors in collaboration with commercial and procurement teams.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for contract management across the DES portfolio.
  • Ensure the Asset Performance Team fully understands and complies with contractual obligations, including variations and updates.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, energy consultants, and service providers.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly client meetings, tracking actions and ensuring issues are resolved.
  • Work with stakeholders (clients, consultants, legal, commercial teams) to resolve disputes and negotiate contract variations.

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on energy and operational performance, ensuring contractual KPIs and energy savings are achieved.
  • Co-ordinate internal and external reporting requirements, including monthly performance reviews to the DES Executive Team.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management Engineer to develop and improve performance dashboards.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage operational budgets in collaboration with finance and O&M providers, using Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
  • Contribute to strategic growth discussions, assessing the financial and performance impact across current and future portfolios.

Continuous Improvement & Onboarding

  • Support the onboarding of new sites, ensuring accurate data transfer and readiness for performance measurement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract delivery and enhance energy and carbon reduction outcomes.
  • Promote best practice, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the Asset Performance Team.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Essential

  • Proven experience in managing EPC, O&M, or facilities management contracts in complex environments.
  • Strong track record in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Commercial awareness with experience overseeing budgets, compliance, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a professional, client-facing approach.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Experience in hospital EPC or PFI contract management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar systems.
  • Ability to mentor team members, adapt quickly, and support evolving business needs
