Ian Farmer Associates Ltd are looking for a
Contracts Manager/Supervisor responsible to the CEG Regional Manager to lead a team based at our Coventry Office. This is a
full-time, permanent position. The role includes both
office based and field based activities. It is expected that CM will undertake the on-site training of new site technicians, in conjunction with any additional training requirements of existing technicians.
The Construction Engineering Group (CEG), predominantly delivers services to the construction sector through a combination of structural investigations/inspections and a variety of in-situ material testing and sampling.
Responsibilities:
The Contracts Manager/Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the In-situ materials testing within the CEG department. This includes assisting the Project administrators with the allocation of technicians, ensuring that test certificates are correctly issued and assisting with the correct allocation of invoices.
- Assisting in ensuring that technicians are correctly allocated to the appropriate task on a daily basis.
- Assisting the Project Administrator with the compiling of Test Certificates.
- Ensuring that certificates issued to clients are correct.
- Assisting the Regional Manager with the pricing of Tenders.
- Assisting the Regional manager in the delivery of strategy in-line with growth plans
- Assisting the Regional Manager with client technical enquires.
- Regularly updating the Regional Manager with market conditions derived through client requirements and forecasted expectations
- Ensuring that equipment is calibrated and undertaking site audits.
- Ensuring that testing and sampling is undertaken in accordance with UKAS standards and that accreditation is maintained.
- Ensuring that site works are undertaken in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Raising the company profile through interaction with new/existing clients
- Undertake site testing during busy periods.
- Recruitment of new Technicians
- Problem solving
- Encouraging site technicians to meet targets/goals through leading by example.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong experience in the Materials testing Industry (>5 years);
- Industry Based Qualifications in Civils, or related subjects. Concrete Technology etc
- Commercially and contractually aware;
- Good awareness and understanding of H&S legislation;
- Good communication skills;
- A full UK driving licence;
- Willing to work on site on occasion;
- Be within a reasonable travelling distance of your office base or be prepared to re-locate.
