We’re excited to be hiring a Controls Principal Hardware Engineer, a key role focused on designing and delivering compliant, high-quality electrical systems that drive our innovative automated solutions.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining the most complex systems that integrate the control hardware and software for the project sites. You will lead on complex materials specifications, schematic drawings, and recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
This is a principal engineering role that pre-empts potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes. Displaying original thinking in applying principles, theories, and concepts to a wide range of problems.

Tasks And Qualifications
Proven experience as Controls Hardware Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer or similar role.Essential: HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.Experience working with E-Plan, AutoCAD, and MS Package.A working understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.Good understanding of distributed control systems and the principles of industrial networks used to connect and integrate control systems. Understanding and use of relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and its harmonised standardsIdeally experienced in SISTEMA (Safety Integrity Software Tool for the Evaluation of Machine Applications)Knowledge or experience of EN 60204-1, EN 13849-1, EN 13850, EN 619, EN 12100, BS 7671Ability to support site-based work both on projects in the UK and the Northern European Region.
