The role
We are looking for a COO for our contract logistics operation for Europe. This is a leadership role that will report to the MD of the region and will be part of the team that is creating and developing a new way of delivering cutting edge supply chain solutions to our customers. The European region for DP World covers everything from Ireland to Turkey and Sweden to Cyprus, has 27,000 staff and over 150 warehouses. We are the most complex region within the DP World global group and we have ambitious plans for the next five years.
This role will lead the operations function for the contract logistics pillar and will include all activity from the early part of the bid process to daily Contract Logistics operations and everything in between. You will be managing a large team and have some exciting growth plans to deliver across the region. This is a very strategic role that will be looking at how we can improve across every step of our journey as well as building operational efficiency that will allow us to deliver ever more ambitious goals.
You will be tasked with a creating a strategic plan that is both comprehensive and innovative taking into our growth plans and our current state of play. You will then work with your team to make these plans a reality and drive growth and efficiency. You will also be looking at our bidding process and deliver a strategy that will not only increase our win percentage but insight into the whole process.
You will also work with the other teams to help integrate new acquisitions into DP World and making sure that they are fully bought into the DP World culture and are contributing positively from day one. The role will develop over the long term as the region grows and takes on new business from new vertical as you will be providing the expertise to make sure that customer's SLAs are met all of the time.

Key Skills And Experience Include
- Extensive senior leadership experience from within the contract logistics space.
- Previous achievements of leading and managing a multidisciplinary and senior operations team.
- Previous experience of dealing in a global or European based role in a corporate matrix organisation.
- Strong stakeholder experience and the ability to influence senior C-Level colleagues.
- An innovative thinker who understands the future landscape of contract logistics and anticipates technological advancements in the sector.
