WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?
As a copywriter, you will have a passion for storytelling, strong grasp of brand of voice and the ability to tailor messaging across various digital platforms and customer segments. You will write engaging, effective, high-quality copy for all digital channels, in the right tone and to deadlines. You will interpret copy briefs, understand project requirements and, where appropriate, challenge the status quo to ensure relevance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in Digital, including designers, product and CRM managers, to ensure copy aligns with wider Digital and product strategies.
We’re especially looking for talented wordsmith, and grammar police who is integral in bringing the rich, authentic stories we have across our brands to life. You will have a knowledge of digital marketing methods with a focus on content and SEO, along with excellent project management skills.
You’ll have the confidence to have robust discussions around the worth and won’t settle for anything that’s not great.
Perhaps most importantly, you will be part of building a culture of curiosity, craft and creative energy. The Creative & Content team should feel like the epicentre of creative fizz at Pentland Brands.
WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?
As our Copywriter you will be responsible for:
- Writing simple, engaging, and high-converting copy for website content, blogs, emails, and social media posts
- Be adept at varying the voice, style, and other characteristics of messaging based on the brands, or target audience
- Stay current on the appropriate style guidelines and brand voice across all Pentland Brands for consistent messaging
- Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of writing, and make adjustments as needed.
- Raise the bar continually by identifying fresh and interesting angles and writing copy that connects with a desired audience and drives action.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communications and industry trends
- Edit your own and others' writing
- Work alongside designers and content creators to ensure that the visual elements complement the words
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
- Writing brand and seasonal messaging for website and emails
- Working with Digital and CRM teams to review and analyse email performance and learn from results to improve campaign copy, messaging and structure
- “Chefs at the pass” – Quality control of all the work that leaves C&C and brand guardianship across our brilliant brands, ensuring brand consistency and coherence in everything we produce.

- Comfortable working at pace, you thrive in collaborative, creative environments and take pride in delivering high-quality content, even to tight deadlines.
- Excellent editing skills — both your own work and others’ — and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work closely with designers, content creators, and marketing teams makes you a trusted and valued part of the creative process.
