N1805 - Corporate Programme Management Office Lead Role Profile
These are exciting times in Plymouth! We have over 400 capital works schemes across the city with revised governance arrangements and a new project management methodology to roll out across the teams that deliver these schemes. On top of this we have a transformation programme to deliver in support of our corporate goal to help prevent residents from falling into crisis, this work will impact staff in our Childrens' Services, Adults' Services (including homelessness) and Public Health, it also requires significant changes to our corporate support services. To provide assurance and a single view across these disparate initiatives we have defined a Corporate Programme Management Office (CPMO) and are looking for the right person to lead this function with us.
As well as the right background and experience in this field, we are also looking for someone who understands and can demonstrate how a CPMO can effectively support project and programme managers in their delivery responsibilities. We also want to find someone capable of developing our staff with the right skills and judgements to create a community of project/programme managers who understand how to deliver capital works and business change effectively for Plymouth City Council.
The amount of change is substantial, our capital programme anticipates spending over £800m between now and 2031 and our business transformation is vital to ensure we effectively support our residents whilst also balancing our budgets. All this to be delivered in a city that is experiencing significant economic growth and in a Council that will be changed as a result of local government reorganisation.
We are a flexible employer and provide a variety of working arrangements tailored to the needs of each role
If you like the sound of that challenge, we would welcome your application.
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to talk in confidence to us about the role by calling Peter Honeywell on 01752 305603.
