Our expanding Corporate Debt team is seeking a qualified Finance Lawyer (NQ+) to join our London office.
What You'll Do:
- With the support of a partner, you will be drafting and negotiating finance documents, managing transaction processes, and overseeing the work of less experienced colleagues.
- Strong technical expertise is essential. However, we also value creativity and a client-focused approach. This means going beyond excellent and tailored transaction management to, for example, being informed and curious about the borrower’s industry and business (including related opportunities and challenges) and exploring how AI and other tools can enhance the overall service.
- Building and strengthening client relationships, as well as developing new ones, is a key aspect of this role. You will collaborate not only with your immediate team but also with colleagues in debt capital markets, structured finance, and derivatives, as well as those specialising in relevant industry groups, such as retail and consumer, professional services, and healthcare.
- Continuous self-development is highly valued. You will be encouraged to participate in formal training programmes (whether technical or skills-based) and to take advantage of mentoring, coaching, and leadership development opportunities available to you.
Who We're Looking For:
- be a qualified solicitor with experience gained either through completing a seat in a finance team during your training contract or through post-qualification experience within a finance team in a comparable firm
- be familiar with Loan Market Association documents and English law security documents, both from the perspective of drafting and negotiating
- be thorough and detail focused
- be able to manage process, risk and people adeptly
- be inquisitive and want to understand our clients, their personal and business drivers and the business challenges and opportunities they face
