Overview

A leading professional services firm is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Restructuring Director to support the continued growth of its Manchester office. The position involves overseeing complex restructuring assignments, delivering strategic guidance to clients in financial distress, and contributing to the development of the regional practice.

Role Purpose

The Corporate Restructuring Director will take responsibility for managing and executing a wide range of restructuring and advisory engagements. The role requires strong technical expertise, commercial insight, and the ability to lead teams in delivering high-quality outcomes for clients across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee corporate restructuring projects, including independent business reviews, contingency planning, accelerated M&A processes, and formal insolvency procedures.
• Provide strategic advice to clients facing liquidity issues, operational challenges, or broader financial pressures.
• Manage, mentor, and develop project teams, ensuring delivery of clear, accurate, and commercially focused work.
• Build and maintain relationships with lenders, private equity firms, legal advisers, and other stakeholders.
• Support business development initiatives, including networking, proposal development, and thought leadership.
• Produce high-quality reports, financial analyses, restructuring plans, and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and internal quality frameworks.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and profile of the restructuring practice in the Manchester market.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in corporate restructuring, turnaround, insolvency, or financial advisory.
• Strong financial analysis capability, including cash flow forecasting, scenario modelling, and business viability evaluations.
• Proven ability to manage complex assignments and multiple stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present clear, concise, and commercially relevant advice.
• Significant leadership experience, with a track record of developing and managing teams.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or JIEB are advantageous.
