You’ll support the Expense Analyst Team Manager in delivering transactional expense management. This includes month-end close, key and material balance sheet actions, and profit and loss (P&L) controls. You’ll create monthly reporting against budgets and forecasts.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Ipswich office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
- Support month-end close in line with wider close timetable. Process month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Ensure cost centre managers are clear on timetable requirements for budgets and forecasts inputs into Anaplan. Make administration changes needed.
- Work with Expense Partner in reviewing budget and forecast, providing ad-hoc analysis and insightful commentary.
- Optimise processes through cross-training, documentation, testing and feedback.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues, including offshore teams.
- Offer commercially focussed technical guidance to Expense Business Partner to optimise accounting treatments.
- Provide data, reconciliations and analysis to external auditors.

What you’ll bring:
- Experience in a similar role in a large finance services or insurance company.
- Technical accounting skills including knowledge of IFRS
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Previous use of Anaplan preferred.
- Ability to offer meaningful insights on reporting.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Stakeholder management.
- Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of payroll and national insurance.
- Studying towards an accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA, or a strong work history in an accounting environment.
