Introduction

We're looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join the capital projects team at a busy ethylene manufacturing plant. You'll play a key role across the full project lifecycle, using your cost estimation and project controls expertise to drive smart decisions, improve planning, and keep projects on track. If you love turning data into impact and working closely with cross-functional teams, this could be a great fit.

What will I be doing?

• Creating accurate cost estimates across all project stages from concept to execution.
• Cost control by preparing & presenting cost reports, forecasts, & variance analyses to project and leadership teams.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving value engineering initiatives.
• Monitoring budgets, tracking spend and reporting on variances and forecasts and work closely with planners to align costs with project schedules and milestones.
• Assessing cost risks and benchmarking against industry standards.
• Supporting procurement by reviewing vendor proposals and ensuring contracts align with budgets.
• Maintaining cost databases and using data insights to improve forecasting and decision-making.

What do I need to succeed?

• Solid experience in cost engineering ideally in energy, oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, or infrastructure.
• Comfortable using tools like AspenTech, SAP, Oracle, and Excel.
• Sharp analytical skills with a knack for financial modelling and reporting.
• Bonus points if you've juggled multiple capital projects at once!
