Reed Smith’s costs team are looking to recruit a costs lawyer to work with litigators in London and across the firms European, Middle East and Asia offices. Those litigators are specialised in several areas, including shipping, banking, employment, property, patents and general commercial litigation and are involved in court litigation and arbitrations.

You’ll work with world-class lawyers across multiple practice areas and multiple cities. All within a structure that offers you greater support, resources and reach.

Responsibilities

Preparing costs schedules, statements of costs and detailed bills of costs and reviewing and commenting on such documents as submitted by other parties. Preparing and advising on costs budgets and client estimates. Preparation and advising on schedules in support of applications for security for costs and requests for payments on account.

Working with Reed Smith litigators to advise clients on strategy relating to costs recovery and in relation to the wider issues that arise from related questions of procedure.

Key Skills, Attributes And Experience

Qualified costs lawyer with at least 5 years’ practical experience (pre or post qualification) working with London City firms or equivalent large commercial practices and, ideally, with experience of dealing with shipping disputes and arbitration proceedings. Good numeracy, excel, writing and communication skills. Ideally, experience of CostsMaster tool.
