Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Crane / Mechanical Technician for Shell Clipper on a core basis on a 2*2 rotation.
Responsibilities
Crane and mechanical maintenance, with multi-skilling capability across a number of assets. The candidate will ideally have working experience and knowledge of the Shell ONEgas NUI’s and Nodal cranes
- Leads in the execution of individual work activities safely in accordance with plans, control of work system and with the requirement of the task and to ensure accurate reporting of the activity.
- Accountable for reaching hands on tool and schedule compliance targets
- Accountable for the safe execution of work within disipline through the frontline team.
- Supporting with planning of preventative and corrective maintenance work scopes
- Accountable for all SAP requirements for platform cranes including but not limited to - Raising notifications, Signing off Work orders, Inputting data, managing FLM notifications into work orders.
Qualifications
Mechanical Maintenance - TMJI10 Dismantle, assemble and hand torque flanged joints.
Crane Operator – stage 3 (or willing to work towards)
NUI Manning Competences - Any helideck, coxswain, first aid training would be desirable but not essential.
HSE
- driving safe execution of maintenance in the field
- Review notifications for process and personal safety risk and steering the team into proposing pragmatic ALARP solutions
- Provide support for emergency and standby situations where required.
General Responsibilities
- Attend as part of standard work milestone meetings for upcoming workscopes be it stand alone or TAR/ Pitstop related.
- As part of milestone process in conjunction with work preparation ensure that all Crane Technician workscopes have sufficient materials & resources available for date of execution.
- Challenge and/or accept the Crane Tech maintenance plan per asset.
- Work and liaise closely with the crane TA.
- Assign/request resources to activities against the maintenance plan or schedule.
- Communicate the future planned work schedule to Production Team Lead/ operations team, maintenance supervisor & chargehands to validate whether permits to work are prepared and approved to be issued for when the job is scheduled. This includesisolations and preparation of equipment for maintenanceactivities
- Ensure work order completion is to the required standard via the chargehands and technicians prior to closing work orders with history recorded as part of closeout (where applicable).
- An integral part of the team you will review work notifications for completeness and provide advise based on experience.
- Highlight emerging conflicts on work schedule to maintenance execution supervisor.
- Execute approved emerging work that meets approval criteria for classification as FLM (frontline maintenance) to drive a find & fix approach
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in reviewing work orders in backlog, providing a clear portfolio of required work per asset including validation of backlog thoughrisk assessment for deferral (utilizing frontline teams to support).
- Evaluate if planned work orders meet operational requirements in conjunction with frontline technicians & manage change through SAP Z6 process.
- Provide frontline coaching for team development including completion of performance reviews for base crew staff.
- Ensure communication regarding return of equipment / materials - following completion, is aligned with process & managed to prevent waste / increased hire costs.
- Ensure housekeeping is to the required standard with specific attention to waste management control & general tidiness (leave it as you expect to find it mentality).
- Provide resource capacity to scheduler to enable 100% loading of his team. Ensure sufficient load is in the frozen schedule and ready to execute fill-in work to prevent downtime and maximise efficiency.
- Attend if required supervisor calls for the best interests of the maintenance team to aid good communications within multi disciplines.
- Provide clear feedback for level of work preparation to the work preparators and check quality of work prep for frozen plan.
- Ensure the timely requesting, generation and review of Permits, avoiding potential delays.
- Through metrics and field visits, will drive continuous improvement in the maintenance E2E process.
- Continuously monitor equipment condition to identify potential improvements for the maintenance and inspection strategies (frequency and scope).
- Monitor engineering and crane maintenance contractors working within discipline on site to ensure safe working practise’s and drive efficiency improvements.
- Feedback performance of contractor’s to Maintenance Supervisor and crane TA.
- Be part of or carry out relevant LOD1 audits. Lead or participate in 5 Why’s Investigations and Sphera reporting Investigations as required.
General
manage the Crane Technician activities such that the operational requirements for optimum equipment availability are met whilst achieving desired maintenance delivery /efficiency. This frontline role will also lead delivery of the frontline maintenance process (FLM) to drive a 'Find & Fix' mentality where possible. Another key aspect of this role will be the coaching of the frontline maintenance execution staff (technicians & chargehands) to aid team development through FLBM / DLOG including upskilling opportunities which will also be defined through this approach.
The Crane Technician will Support in backlog maintenance reduction reviews will also be part of the frontline role to offer expertise advise for the respective discipline to the maintenance execution supervisor in order deliver accurate platform status in respect to outstanding work requirements
