Job description
We are seeking an experienced Creative Designer with at least 3 years of agency or in-house experience to join our dynamic Creative team based in Sunderland city centre. The ideal candidate will be a versatile creative thinker, capable of delivering innovative design solutions across multiple disciplines, including both digital and print media.
This role requires a highly motivated individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, work efficiently under tight deadlines, and deliver polished, high-quality work that meets briefs accurately. The successful candidate will be confident in leading creative initiatives and thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
As an experienced designer, the role will also involve helping junior designers with their projects and their development alongside the senior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project briefs to understand requirements and objectives.
- Develop creative concepts and design solutions for a variety of mediums including websites, product graphics, email templates, social media content, and brand campaigns.
- Work within brand guidelines to maintain consistency across all creative outputs.
- Create final artwork and designs on time and within budget.
- Amend designs based on feedback from clients or internal departments.
- Prepare and optimize artwork for digital platforms (web, email, social media) ensuring technical accuracy.
- Prepare print-ready artwork and liaise with printers to ensure quality standards.
- Proofread designs and follow production sign-off procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and other departments.
- Assist senior team members with project management tasks and supplier coordination.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all work in progress.
- Attend team and project meetings as required.
- Undertake any other duties aligned with the role as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years professional experience in graphic design within an agency or in-house creative environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional conceptual thinking, colour use, and layout skills across digital and print.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Solid understanding of web, email, digital design, and print production processes.
- Experience in designing digital assets such as emails and social media graphics.
- Knowledge of photography, filming, and video editing is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Confidence presenting ideas clearly and enthusiastically.
