About The Role
Based in our London Head Office, the Residential Lettings Accounts department is looking to recruit a Portfolio Credit Controller on a (12 months FTC) to ensure that all amounts invoiced are regularly chased until payment has been received for Residential Lettings Division.
Responsibilities
- Chasing outstanding rent by letter, telephone and email – In line with agreed Credit Control Procedures.
- Chasing outstanding commission invoices by letter, telephone and email – In line with agreed Credit Control Procedures.
- Circulating chasing letters and correspondence to property manager on fully managed lets.
- Dealing with all queries that arise from chasing and documenting on Qube SLM.
- Attending regular review meetings with Accounts Manager and Residential Lettings Accounts Head.
- Advising negotiators/managers/landlords on course of action to take, i.e. legal.
- Liaising with landlord to advise on how to proceed with their solicitor with regard to outstanding debt.
- Attending weekly meetings with branch managers concerning both tenant and landlord bad debt.
- Starting legal proceedings with regards to landlord bad debt where necessary.
- Liaising with landlord and/or office manager regarding bad debt and instructing client accountants on raising credits & invoices.
- Court attendance in London for clients for all legal cases.
- Liaising with solicitors and providing them with up to date documents & rent statements relevant to the case.
- Assisting with allocation of payments received and investigating any errors that may occur.
- Ensuring that requests for write offs & Credit notes are dealt with on a timely basis.
- Monitor and track KPI’s for regular meetings.
- Working in line with the renewals and front office administration to ensure any updates regarding payment schedules are addressed with addendums issued.
- Actioning arrears reports for client monthly meetings.
- Generating landlord bad debt reports.
- Agreeing and administering payment plans
- Liaising between front office, property management, landlord & tenant to resolve any issues and agree a way forward.

QubeSLM(Aspasia) – (Training provided)
Microsoft Office Packages.
Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required
- ARLA qualified
- Thorough understanding of the right to forfeiture for contractual tenancies – required.
- Minimum of 3 years credit control experience.
- Residential lettings experience required.
- Motivated individual able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Professional telephone manner & excellent written English skills.
- Able to communicate with all relevant parties in an understandable and professional manner.
- Must have an intermediary knowledge of Microsoft excel
- Previous experience attending court hearings
